In what organizers hope will be a monthly event, the Manteca-based event planning company is again offering First Fridays Comedy at Cabana Del Sol – following up on the success of Cliff Cash last month by presenting accomplished local comedian Saul Trujillo with Mike Cella and Chris Teicheira rounding out the bill.
The $15 tickets can be purchased in advance at comedyatcabana.eventbrite.com, or purchased at the door of Cabana Del Sol – located at 1124 W. Yosemite Avenue. The show is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
“As The Social Muse, we want to create consistent positive events within our own community that support local businesses like our own,” Hart wrote about the group’s mission. “First Fridays Comedy at Cabana Del Sol brings people together for a great night out and supports the restaurants and Deaf Puppies Comedy.
“It’s fun to create the space for friends to gather or have a date night and laugh.”
As the headliner, Trujillo – the winner of the San Jose Improv Comedy Competition – will bring his unique brand of local comedy that has impressed audiences throughout the Western United States. Trujillo has performed throughout California and has toured through Oregon and Washington. The Stockton native now spends much of time in Manteca working on jokes and perfecting his style with the rest of the Deaf Puppy comedy crew.
Cella, who performs regularly throughout Sacramento and Northern California, will be the featured act for the evening. An Iraq War veteran who also has credits as a comedy and sports writer, Cella has graced the stages of most of Northern California’s comedy stages and includes stints at the Savage Henry Comedy Festival in Humboldt County, the San Francisco Sketch Fest and Sacramento Comedy Festival on his list of credits.
Teicheira, who hosted the first comedy night organized by The Social Muse last month, will return to the microphone as the host of the evening.
Admission also includes access to Flashback Friday, which begins at 9 p.m. and runs until 1 a.m., which will transform the restaurant into a night club as people dance to their favorite throwback music.
