Manteca Adult School graduates 50 students

 Graduation marked a major milestone for these adult learners.
Products of the Manteca Adult School, many overcame personal obstacles in order to earn their Certificate of Achievement or diploma.
According to Principal Diane Medeiros, 22 of the 50 members from the Class of 2018 were honored Thursday in a special event held outdoors in front of the Manteca Unified District Office.
She also addressed the graduates with her message: “Defining Moments, A Choice.”
Shylee Conway gave the class speech on “Make Moves or Make Excuses.”
Students and staff had a chance to share their stories in front of family, friends, and special guests who included Interim Superintendent Clark Burke, Deputy Superintendent Roger Goatcher, and school board members Evelyn Moore and Michael Seelye, to name a few.
They were introduced by Manteca Adult School counselor Larry Machado, who also had the honors of welcoming those in attendance.
