Manteca City Hall may close for the week of Christmas.

The City Council is considering a week-long “winter closure” from Dec. 23-27 when they meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center, 1001 W. Center St.

The closure, if adopted, would not apply to essential employees such as police, fire, solid waste crews, and wastewater treatment plant operators. On-call emergency utility services would be available to the public during the closure. The request is being made of the council based on how the holidays fall this year and the number of anticipated time off requests form city employees.
