Manteca and Ripon are once again part of Congressman Jerry McNerny’s district that includes Stockton.

Meanwhile Lathrop, which is currently part of McNerny’s district, is being moved to the redrafted 13th District that stretches along Interstate 5 and goes as far south as Coalinga.

The final Congressional redistricting map unveiled Monday removed Manteca and Ripon along with Escalon from what was once the 10th District currently represented by Josh Harder.

The reshaped 9th District also includes Tracy, Stockton, Lodi, Mountain House, the eastern Delta, eastern Sam Joaquin County and a slice of Tuolumne County.

Lathrop, which was part of the 9th District as rural south Manteca is now part of the 5th District that includes Patterson, most of west and south Modesto, Ceres, Keyes, roughly half of Turlock, Newman, Gustine, Santa Nella, Los Banos, Coalinga, Madera, Merced, and Patterson.

Harder’s district, which becomes the 5th District includes the rest of Turlock and Modesto plus Oakdale and Riverbank. It includes Placerville and El Dorado Hills in the north, Sonora, as well as most of Tuolumne, Calaveras, Mariposa, and Merced counties. It also includes Yosemite as well as King Canyon national parks.

McNerney was originally elected to represent Manteca and nearby communities as well as part of the Bay Area before redistricting in 2010.

The maps take effective with the 2022 election cycle. Until then Harder will still represent the interests of Manteca, Ripon, and Escalon.
