Brandy Perkins is seeking a seat on the Manteca Unified school board.
She’s the only candidate to emerge for the Nov. 8 election, according to the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters office.
Perkins, who is listed as a mother / engineer, is hoping to represent Trustee Area 2. Trustee Kathy Howe, the incumbent, is also on the ballot – she was appointed to the MUSD board in October 2015, and was reappointed to another four years after running unopposed in 2018.
This is an election year for her colleagues’ Mary Freitas, Cathy Pope-Gotschall and Stephen Schluer
All three are unopposed and are looking to be appointed for another four years.
Freitas represents Trustee Area 4, where she’s finishing up her first term. Freitas won her seat in 2018.
Pope-Gotschall was also a winner in the 2018 election. She looking forward to another term as the representative for Trustee Area 5.
Schluer has been on the MUSD school board since 2015. He’s also the Operations Division Captain for the Manteca Police Department as well as representing Trustee Area 6.
