The City of Ripon has entered into a lease agreement with the Rage Volleyball Club for use of the Mistlin Indoor Sports Facility.

City Council made it official, approving the first amendment of the operation agreement at Tuesday’s meeting.

With that, the Rage will have both the flexibility and ability to collect user fees, tournament fees and advertising fees in order to meet all financial obligations.

The 27,000 square foot building with concrete flooring and restrooms is nearing completion.

Goodland Landscape Construction, Inc. was recently awarded the parking lot project – $1.6 million will come from the Parks & Recreation General Capital Fund.

Engineering Supervisor Elizabeth Qulici indicated that Parks & Rec. funding can expect to be fully reimbursed within 15 years, assuming a 2 percent interest rate, from the lease revenues generated by the Rage Volleyball Club

The project will consist of the 210-space paver parking lot with drainage, lighting, landscaping and irrigation coupled with a pavement extension and sidewalk to Fulton Avenue.

The Mistlin Indoor Sports Facility is located in north Ripon on the eastern extension of the Mistlin Sports Park on River Road and Fulton Avenue.
