Ripon;s Stockton Avenue.

The Ripon City Council last week accepted the work completed by D.A. Wood Construction on the Stockton Avenue Rehabilitation Project.

With the Notice of Completion came the retention payment to the Oakdale-based contractor for $276,224 – paid via the Water, Sewer & Storm Enterprise Capital Funds, Measure K Regional Arterial Funds, and the Street & Road Operating Fund, in the 35 days after the recording of notice, according to City Administrator Kevin Werner’s report.

The Notice of Completion between the City of Ripon and D.A. Wood dates back to Feb. 9, 2021.

A big chuck of the early work involved underground work – separation of a storm drain pipeline and a city industrial sewer pipeline along the old asphalt stretch of road, for example.

The City of Ripon was able to get grant money for the project.

The rest of the improvements consisted of the reconstruction of Stockton Avenue, between Second Street and Doak Boulevard, adding concrete pavers, 6-feet-wide sidewalks, and new street lights, to name a few.
