The City of Ripon owns a piece of land just north of the Ripon Memorial Library.
This property currently contains a small warehouse – used to store public works supplies – and some parking spaces.
Staff is scheduled to present the conceptual townhouse project at 122 N. Elm St. at Tuesday’s 6 p.m. Ripon City Council meeting.
“If Council is interested in moving forward with the project, staff will prepare an overall project budget and identify funding resources,” said Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart in his staff report.
Plans to develop the site was initially brought along back in December when elected leaders approved the hiring of Keesey Design to provide site development concepts of potential townhouse project.
The Keesey Design scope of work included preparing a site layout to show the feasible number of affordable housing units that could be located on this parcel along with unit floor plan design drawings and elevations,” Zuidervaart added.
The plans call for three two-story townhouses to fit the property. Each would be about 1,625 square feet with three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms.
Each unit would have a designated single car garage along with a covered balcony off the master suite on the front, and a covered patio/storage area in the rear yard.
The Library Property Townhouse Project is the lone discussion item at the open session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
