Ripon Christian seeks sign in front of campus
RCS

Ripon Christian School is looking to install a sign at the front of the main campus.

But in order to do, school officials will need a conditional use permit from the Ripon Planning Commission.

Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Located at 435 N. Maple Ave., RC is requesting to put up a 13-foot tall sign with an electronic message center – similar to that at Ripon High, according to Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart – in front of the middle school gymnasium.

A meeting was held on May 29 with the project review committee.

Plans for the RC sign, the group said, does not interfere with safe site distances for pedestrian along with vehicular traffic on and around the site.

The proposed design of the sign also complies with the Ripon Municipal sign code.

Commissioners will also conduct a major site review on a request to construct a 15,000 square foot warehouse building with 3,000 square feet of mezzanine area on a vacant 1.039-acre site located at 1101 S. Acacia Ave.

They’ll do likewise on a request to add 12,000 square feet onto an existing 26,000 square foot warehouse at 338 Industrial Ave.
