Second Harvest of the Greater Valley will bring the community together for its 2026 Empty Bowls Fundraiser Brunch on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Veranda Gardens in downtown Manteca.

Empty Bowls is an opportunity for neighbors, local businesses, donors, and partners to come together and make an impact in the fight against hunger.

This year, Second Harvest has set a goal of raising $150,000 to support hunger-relief efforts and expand access to nutritious food for children, families, and older adults throughout San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties.

“Empty Bowls is an opportunity for our community to come together in support of our neighbors,” said Jessica Vaughan, CEO of Second Harvest of the Greater Valley.

“Every guest, sponsor, donor, and partner who supports this event is part of the impact we can make together and helps strengthen our ability to provide nutritious food to our neighbors in need.”

Funds raised through Empty Bowls will support the programs and operations that keep nutritious food moving to those we serve. With the support of local businesses, partners, donors, and friends, Second Harvest can continue reaching thousands of neighbors facing hunger.

Guests will enjoy a brunch, live and silent auctions featuring items and experiences donated by local businesses and supporters, and an opportunity to learn more about Second Harvest’s work and the difference their support makes.

Second Harvest of the Greater Valley works to provide children, families, and older adults throughout San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties with access to healthy, nutritious food. Through a network of community partners, schools, food pantries, and distribution programs, Second Harvest provides food and hope to neighbors throughout the region.
