SRT presents a hilarious romp with ‘The Graduate’ on Fallon House’s stage
the graduate
Benjamin and Mrs. Robinson.

COLUMBIA — Sierra Repertory Theatre is presenting “The Graduate”, playing at the Fallon House Theatre in Columbia State Historic Park, Sept. 28 through Oct. 29.

It’s California in the 60s.

Benjamin’s got excellent grades, very proud parents, and since he helped Mrs. Robinson with her zipper, a fine future behind him.

A cult novel, a classic film, a quintessential hit of the 60s, now Benjamin’s disastrous sexual odyssey is brought vividly to life in this exciting new adaptation.

“We have been playing around with putting this title in our seasons for years and now seemed like the perfect time to do it,” said SRT’s Executive Producer Scott Viets. “The play is hilarious and makes you consider the story of Benjamin Braddock and Mrs. Robinson in a whole new light.”

The Graduate stars John Wascavage, Natasha Hause, Allie Pratt, Matt K. Miller, Don Bilotti, Maryann Curmi, Sergio Salinas Jr, and Megan Evans.

The Graduate previews at the Fallon House Theatre in Columbia State Historic Park at 6:30 p..m on Sept. 28 and 29, and 2 p.m. on Sept. 30.

The show opens Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.

Regular performance times are Wednesdays at noon, Thursdays at 2 p.m., Fridays at 7p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Tickets range from $35-$48. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more, students, veterans, and first responders.

Tickets are available by calling the box office at 209.532.3120, visiting SierraRep.org, or emailing tickets@sierrarep.org. T

he Graduate is recommended for audiences 17 and older, the show contains adult language and situations.

“We are certainly following the trend of putting classic stories and movies on stage this year, Viets said. “ I’m really excited about how funny this script is. The film is hilarious but seeing the action and hearing the language live makes it bolder, more urgent, and downright hilarious.”

The Graduate is adapted by Terry Johnson; based on the novel by Charles Webb and the motion picture screenplay by Calder Willingham and Buck Henry, by special arrangement with StudioCanal.

The production is directed by Scott Viets, and intimacy and fight choreography by Camryn Elias. Scenic design by Tijana Bjelajac, costumes and wigs by Austin Blake Conlee, lighting by Elizabeth Schweitzer, sound by Tatiana Covington-Parra, and stage managed by Michael Laun.
