BG summer

Parents in the Ripon Unified School District can enroll their children into the Give Every Child a Chance summer camp being conducted at Ripon Elementary School.

The program is from June 3 to July 19 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. There is no summer camp on July 4-5.

It is open to any Ripon Unified student entering kindergarten through 8th grade in the fall. The cost per student is $25 a month with a family cap of $65 a month.

A lunch will be provided daily.

Scholarships are available for families in need on a sliding scale.

Weekly activities include academic assistance and refresher instruction, character building, outdoor activities, project based learning, Girl Scouts, health education classes, farmers markets, cooking classes, art, walking field trips, community presentations, reading challenge, education enrichment, and more.

The program is similar to a summer camp GECAC operates at Sequoia School in Manteca. The summer camp at Sequoia School is already full.

Applications are available at the school offices at Ripona, Colony Oak, Weston, Park View, and Ripon schools.

For more information call the GECAC office at (209) 825-7003.
