Work on the standard well building and fencing for the Well 19 domestic water project at the Mistlin Sports Park is currently taking place.

The underground work at the Well 19 Pump Station Project was recently completed.

Senior Civil Engineer Sarah Collins mentioned that as part of her update at last Tuesday’s Ripon City Council meeting.

At this point, she’s anticipating the potable water system project at Mistlin Sports Park, 1201 W. Ripon Rd., to be finished in August.

The Lodi-based contractor Soracco Inc. was awarded the bid for the Well 19 Pump Project in September.

The standard well building along with fencing is currently taking place at the site.

Well 19 is expected to produce anywhere from 1,200 to 2,000 gallons per minutes of domestic water to the entire city once completed.

Work on the project has been several years in the making.

Included was Shoreline Environmental Engineering entering into an agreement with the City of Ripon on July 2019, providing civil, mechanical and structural design services of the final design of the well improvements.

Wood Rodgers, Inc., during that same year, provided construction oversite of the first phase of the project that included the drilling the well.

The second phase called for installing the permanent pump, motor and site improvements necessary to incorporate the well into the City’s potable water system.

Staff, due to specific elements required for the second phase of the project design, also reached out to consultant firms specializing in designing municipal potable drinking water production wells and pump stations for assistance.
