The Bulletin

Christopher ‘Kit’ Oase has filed for re-election the Ripon Unified school board seat.

The incumbent is looking to continue to serve as the Area 2 representative.

According to the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters office in Stockton, Chad Huskey is seeking the Area 1 spot currently occupied by board President Donna Parks.

She and Ernest Tyhurst in Area 2 have yet to file for another four-year term.

For that matter, no one of the Ripon City Council has filed.

Mayor Chuck Winn will be vying for the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisor post. He’s in a runoff in November against Lodi business owner Russ Munson for District 4.

Uecker has expressed an interest for another term.

Those interested in school board or council post must be a registered voter of Ripon at the time nomination papers are issued.

They’re also required to be:

• A U.S. citizen

• A Ripon resident

• At least age 18 on the date of the next election

• Not in prison or on parole for a felony conviction

Those filing nomination papers are required to submit forms and fees by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at the SJC Registrar of Voters office, 44 N. San Joaquin St.
