2 SHOT, 1 KILLED WHILE SITTING AT BUS STOP IN SF: SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Police say a male victim was killed and a female victim critically injured after they were shot while sitting at a San Francisco bus stop in the middle of the day.

San Francisco police spokesman Dennis Toomer says the two were shot at about 1 p.m. Monday at a bus stop in the city's Bayview district.

Toomer says both were taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where the male victim was declared dead and the female victim is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Their names and ages were not immediately released.

Police are canvassing the area for witnesses.

There have been no reports of any arrests and no information on suspects released.

BODY OF MISSING KAYAKER FOUND IN LAKE DEL VALLE: LIVERMORE  (AP) — Authorities have discovered the body of a missing kayaker in Livermore's Lake Del Valle.

The Contra Costa Times reports (hat lifeguards found 30-year-old Michael Perez' body about 100 feet from the shore.

Perez disappeared into the water on June 16 while kayaking with his sister.

The Mountain House man had removed his life vest, left his boat and swam to shore. Authorities said he started struggling and calling for his vest on his swim back to the kayak.

He disappeared beneath the surface.

East Bay Regional Park District spokeswoman Emily Hopkins says Perez' death is being investigated as a drowning.
