SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a small plane has gone down on a golf course near a Sacramento airport, and the two men aboard have been taken to a hospital.

Assistant Chief Kim Iannucci of the Sacramento Fire Department says the plane went down Friday night in a wooded area of Bing Maloney Golf Course, which is adjacent to Sacramento Executive Airport.

Iannucci tells the Sacramento Bee that the men were out of the plane and walking around when firefighters arrives shortly before 7 p.m., but she did not have details about their injuries.

She says fuel was leaking from the plane and a hazardous materials incident has been declared.

The airport and golf course are in Southwestern Sacramento just east of Interstate 5 about five miles south of the Capitol.
