The City of Manteca will end its annual Christmas tree collection and lead collection programs on Friday, Jan. 20. All residents who wish to participate are requested to place leaves and Christmas trees only in loose piles in the street. Leaves should be at least one foot out from the curb gutter. Make sure that leaves do not clog the gutter and block the flow of rainwater. The City’s street sweepers will be collecting the leaves on regular street sweeping days, which occur every other week in residential areas. Leaves bagged in plastic will not be picked up.

All other garden trimmings such as grass clippings and tree prunings are not included in the leaf collection program. place these items in the City provided yard waste collection bin (green Toter) or compost them in your own backyard.

Residents wanting to find out when their leaf collection days are scheduled can look at the street sweeping map at http://www.ci.manteca.ca.us/pwt/stdiv/streetswp.pdf or call the City at 456-8449 for more information.

Leaves will not be collected on January 16 due to the holiday. Residential areas scheduled for pick up on that day will either be serviced the work day before the day after the holiday.

If you have any questions, please call Facilities Maintenance Superintendent Dave Frank at 456-8476 or by using the “Contact Us” button on the top of the City’s home page (www.ci.manteca.ca.us) and selecting the Other (Streets) topic.
