Bethany “Beth” Jewel Vinson was  born in Oakland on May 24, 1965 where she was then adopted  by Glenn and Elnora Nielsen.
On Nov.16, 2008 the Lord called her  to His loving arms suddenly while she was asleep. She grew up in Fremont with her parents and three brothers Ron, Aaron and Maurice.
In 1987, while working at the Hayward Ross Distribution Center, she  met the love of her life Anthony (Tony) Allen Vinson. Tony and Bethany  dated for three years before getting married at Lake Tahoe on Dec.  28, 1990. They went on to have 18 incredible loving years together.
They lived in the East Bay Area where their son, Joshua Allen, was born  on Dec. 27, 1996. They decided to move to Manteca in 2000. Bethany  loved Lake Alpine. The year she was born her father built a family cabin  there. She will be remembered for her love for the mountains and nature.  She enjoyed many years of going to the mountains, camping, fishing and  hiking with Tony and Joshua. She also enjoyed the snow in winter months.  Her love of animals, nursing them back to health was one of many loving  acts she performed. In fact, she rescued a love bird from the jaws of  a cat which currently resides with her father-in-law and mother-in-law,  Randy and Dee, in Arizona. She constantly was everyone’s helper when  the need arose even the last years of her life when she was seriously  ill with chronic pancreatitis and fibromyalgia. She was a very loving  and social person and made friends easily. She loved her Lord and Savior  Jesus Christ and she enjoyed and was comforted by reading her Bible  daily.
She cherished every moment she spent with her family and loved  ones. Bethany will always be remembered as a devoted loving wife and  a wonderful loving mother and loyal friend. Her family will warmly cherish  her memories. Bethany will be missed by all the lives she has touched.  She will live in their hearts until they are once again reunited in  heaven.
She is survived by her loving and cherished husband Anthony  (Tony) A. Vinson, precious son 11-year-old Joshua A. Vinson, loving  father Glenn Nielsen and stepmother Marty of Mesa, AZ, devoted brothers  Ron Nielsen (Holly and family) of Washington; Aron Nielson (Gloria and  family) of Mississippi, Maurice Nielsen (Anne and family) of Ohio. Dearly  loved daughter-in-law to Randall “Randy” McCluney (Trecelle “Dee”)  of Sun City West, AZ. Caring sister-in-law to Dwain Vinson and his fiancée  of Mt. View, CA, Renee Tift (Thomas) of Newark, CA. Cherished aunt to  Thomas Tift Jr., Kristy Tift Lopez (Adrian) and Michael Tift, all of  Newark, CA. Beloved great-aunt to Adrian Lopez II and Alanah Lopez of  Newark, CA. She also leaves behind numerous other nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her mother Elnora Nielsen of Fremont and  Aunt Dorothy Dawson of Ukiah.
A Celebration of Life was held at  First Presbyterian Church of Newark on Saturday, Nov. 22.
