Boyd C. Martin, 80 years old, of Manteca passed away Monday, January 9, 2012. He was born November 3,1931 in Deer, AR son of Ertis Vester S. and Jewell Martin. He is preceded in death by his brothers David, William, Floyd his twin, Lewis and Billy Ray as well as his sister Betty Owen and granddaughter Summer Martin. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired after 27 years of service to General Motors and spent 14 years as an emergency paramedic with the Fremont ambulance service. After retirement he devoted 5 years of his time as an independent truck driver.

Survived by his wife of 54 years Patricia Ella (Haberkam) Martin. brothers Paul and wife Sandy of Coal Hill AR, Jerry Martin and wife Lucille of Ozark AR, Mike and wife Donna of Roswell NM, sister Shirley Martin of Fayetteville AR, son Boyd Jr and wife Sonia of Lebanon, PA, daughters Christine A. Ryan and husband Jeff of Manteca, Kathleen J. Gray and husband James of Manteca, and son David M. and wife Kim of Escalon.

He is also survived by grandchildren Adam B. Martin and wife Amanda of Tempe, AZ, Tiana J. (Martin) Smetana and husband Michael of Lebanon PA, Robert and Jason Ryan of Manteca, Jessica (Salas) Arellin and husband Joshua of Brighton, CO, Nichole (Gray) Strickland and husband Kyle of Manteca, Amanda Gray of Manteca, Miranda Martin, Sandi and Jaden Burgus of Escalon, CA.

Also surviving are great grandchildren Micah Smetana, Jacob, Jared and Jaxon Arellin and Aubrie and Madison Strickland.

Funeral services will be held January 21, 2012 at Parkview Cemetery and Funeral Home, 3661 East French Camp Rd. There will be no viewing. Visitation will be held at 1:30 pm. Interment will be held following the ceremony.
