Dorothy Koehn

Dorothy Koehn passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010 in Roseville at the age of 81.

She was born Dorothy Lea Fletcher on May 21, 1928 in Coffeyville, Kansas. Shortly after her birth the family moved to Okalahoma. In 1944 Dorothy married Bert Koehn and the two set off for California.  A few years, one son, and a couple of detours later Dorothy and Bert made their way to Manteca, where she would live for the next 40 years.  

Bert and Dorothy had three more sons and in December of 1962 tragedy struck the family with the passing of Bert. Dorothy was a single mom raising four little boys when she met Marty Teunissen in 1969. Dorothy and Marty moved to Amador County in 1995.  Dorothy was an avid collector, especially of dolls.  She also enjoyed oil painting and ceramics.  She was a spirited woman who was strong willed but at the same time very generous and always taking care of others.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Don Koehn of Manteca, Steven Koehn of Turlock, Randy Koehn and wife, Chris of Manteca; devoted companion, Marty Teunissen and his three children; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who dearly loved her and will forever deeply miss her.  She was preceded in death by husband, Bert in 1962 and son Mark Koehn in 2006.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service Thursday, Feb. 4, at 10:30 a.m.. at Sunset View Cemetery, Garden of Golden Memories 10200 Highway 88, Jackson. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be offered via e-mail to the family at condolences@danerimortuary.com Arrangements were entrusted to Daneri Mortuary.
