Frank Macedo, 88, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2009 in Manteca. He was born in Ripon on November 16, 1920 and was a lifelong resident of Manteca.

 Frank served in the United States Navy in WWII, serving in the South Pacific, where his love for traveling was born. Frank enjoyed his many travels through the USA, Canada, Europe and the South Pacific.

Frank was also a self-employed milk hauler for the Manteca Kraft plant for 30 years and was a school bus driver for the Manteca Unified School District for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years Thelma Macedo. He is survived by his daughter Terry and son-in-law Glenn Wilson of Arroyo Grande, granddaughter Meghan Field, her husband Stephen Field, grandson Kyle Wilson and good friend Priscilla Quintana. He is also survived by his daughter Karen McLeod of Silversprings, Nevada, her husband Ed, granddaughter Kimberly McLeod and grandson Eddie McLeod. Frank was blessed with 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Frank enjoyed spending time with family, weekly lunches at Johnny’s and Sunday breakfast at Chubby’s with all of his lifelong friends. He was an avid dancer and dearly loved big-band dancing; his motto was “Why walk through life when you can dance.” In his later years, Frank treasured his friendship and support from Priscilla who he shared walks with on Pismo Beach, traveling and of course dancing. Frank was a loving and devoted father, husband, grandfather and friend who had an amazing passion for life. He will be missed greatly.

Mr. Macedo’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. A second visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by his services at 1 p.m. also held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Park View Cemetery.
