Jo Marie Walker passed away Jan. 7 in Stockton with her loving daughter Leslie Walker at her side.  
Jo was born in Dallas, TX on Jan. 6, 1940 to parents Lourie and Elizabeth Taylor, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1958.
In 1960 Jo moved to Reno where she met and married John R. Walker in 1961.
Their daughter Leslie was born in 1962.  Jo was a blackjack dealer at Harrah’s in the early 1960s before moving to Manteca in 1967.  She was the president of the Manteca Women’s Service Club, where she helped organize many luncheons, dances, and fashion shows.  Jo was also a member of the Manteca Woman’s Bowling Association where she enjoyed bowling for many years and made many friends.  Jo loved her gambling trips to Reno and Jackson, playing the poker machines as well as playing Pinochle with her friends.
Jo is survived by her daughter, Leslie Walker.  Her loving and giving spirit will never be forgotten.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Park View Memorial Chapel, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Pets and Pals, 12488 S. Harlan Road, Lathrop.  Arrangements are being handled by Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca.
