John C. Evans, 74, entered into rest on December 8, 2010 in French Camp, California. He was born on October 11, 1936 in Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Olan and Leona Evans. He joins his parents in heaven as well as his sons, John Evans and Michael Evans.

John is survived by his children: James Evans of Manteca, Gregory Evans of Manteca, and Gail Abnathle of Orland. He was blessed with numerous grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Mr. Evans retired from the United States Navy as a metalsmith. After the military, John worked for various welding companies over the course of 20 years. He enjoyed watching boxing on television. He loved collecting gadgets and shopping from infomercials. He was exceedingly artistic with his hobby of oil painting.  John will be remembered as an honest man with a loving heart.

A graveside service will held in his honor at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 2 p.m. in Gustine. Mr. Evans’ services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. An online guest book is available at www.plfryandson.com search obituaries.
