Born and raised in Ohio, John moved to California with his family when he was 17.
   He was married to Evelyn Wagoner for 38 years until her sudden death.  They settled in Ripon, and raised five children.
From a young age, John worked with enthusiasm and excellence.  he became a skilled carpenter, and worked for  several contractors.  For more than thirty years he was self-employed doing new amd remodel Construction.  He celebrated 31 years of marriage with Clara Garber.  They were active in the ministries of  Ripon Grace Church, and enjoyed traveling, visting relatives and friends.
  John loved his Savior, and people. His life was characterized by generosity and serving, and he enjoyed talking with anyone he met.  He was known for his remarkable memory.
   John will be missed by his wife and remaining family Phillip King, Paul and Martha Rumble, Dave and Milly Wing, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He left a rich heritage of love and memories for his children Steven King, Donna and Dennis Frantz, Brian and Kathy King, Bob King, Marie and Dean Geib, and his 18 grandchildren, 42 great-
grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
   A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 6, at Wood Colony Cemetery, 3511 Dakota Avenue, Modesto.  Following, there will be an open house reception where you may share your love and memories with Clara and the family at Ripon Grace Church, 734 West Main Street, Ripon.
