Joseph M. Stallings, 91, entered into rest on July 18, 2019 in French Camp, CA.
He was born in Compton, CA January 1, 1928.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Stallings and Harriette Lapp, and brother, LeLand and sister, Virginia Yovetich.
   Mr. Stallings is survived by his wife of 51 years, Paula and sons, Michael (Patti) and Christopher (Candice) and grandsons Alan and Samuel.
   Mr. Stallings was a proud Marine serving as a  part of the detachment guarding the Atomic Bombs during the Pacific testing.  He was also an embassy guard in Paris and Madrid.  He earned his Master’s in Applied Theology from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley and was the author of four books on Passover and the Eucharist.  He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Legion of Mary and prayer groups at the church.  He was also a member of the Secular Franciscans in Stockton.  He will be missed by all who knew him.
   Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, 525 E. North St., Manteca.  In lieu of flowers please send donations to your favorite charity.
