Joyce Marie Lindsay
October 13, 1945-July 4, 2019
Joyce Lindsay obit
She loved her sons. She loved her grandkids. She loved her brothers and their children. She loved her dear friends. And, yes, she loved her dogs.
Our mom, Joyce Marie Lindsay, had a lot of love to give and she was always generous in bestowing it upon others – sometimes in very public ways, but other times in private acts of kindness.
She passed away on July 4, in ill health but sudden and no less heartbreaking.
Mom built so many wonderful relationships over the years, during the 1970s when she worked at Manteca Bowl (and was a pretty good bowler in her own right) and especially in the years that followed when she worked for Manteca Unified, first at Sequoia School as a teacher’s aide and in the office and later at Lathrop School.
She was born and raised in Vallejo, but moved to Manteca in the mid-1960s and then, in the late-1980s, she moved to Modesto, where she lived upon her death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen Begley, a brother, Charles Begley, and her beloved dogs, Pepper and Chocolate.
She is survived by her sons, Alvie Lindsay and James Lindsay, her grandchildren, Zack, Jackson and Emily, and her brothers, Steve Begley and Paul Begley.
A funeral will be held on July 23, at
6 p.m. at  Eaton Family Funeral, 513 12th Street, Modesto. Private burial will be held in Vallejo at Skyview Memorial Lawn.
