Kenneth W. Hafer, 84, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on March 7, 2017.
Ken was born in Hobart, Oklahoma on April 2, 1932. His parents were Ruby and Paul Mason, and Tommie Hafer.
Ken moved to Manteca during childhood. He and Alice were high school sweethearts and true life partners. Ken was actively involved in the Manteca community his whole life. He was a business owner, founding member of the Manteca Historical Society and a Life Member of the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club and a devoted Catholic. He was a beloved husband and family man.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alice; children, Anna Martinez, Paul Hafer (Cyndi), and Julia Lyberger; grandchildren, Alicia Noonkester (James), David Bayless, Kenn Lyberger (Rachel), Marcus Lyberger (Johanna), Nick and Erika Hafer; great-grandchildren, RubyAnne and Wyatt Noonkester, Lucas and Emma Lyberger.
Visitation will be held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, on Wednesday, March 15, from 5p.m. with a vigil following at 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, March 16, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 525 E. North St., Manteca. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at the Swiss Hall, Ripon.
In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Ken may be made to the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club, Ripon, or to the Manteca Historical Society.
