Lester J. Den Ouden, age 93, surrounded by his family, entered into the presence of his Lord December 4, 2012.
He was born April 4, 1919, in Orange City, Iowa. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Angeline and children Judy Groen (Francis), Bud Den Ouden (Deanna), Sandra Visser and Robin Meeuwse. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was a World II Army veteran. He lived in Ripon for 83 years and was involved in farming. Les was active in all high school sports and continued playing baseball. He was an avid golfer and former member of Spring Creek Golf Club.
Les and his wife are charter members of the Immanuel and Almond Valley Christian Reformed Churches and active in each. Les also served on the Ripon Christian School Board.
Visitation will be Friday, December 7, from 2 p.m. to
5 p.m. at the Deegan Funeral Home in Ripon. Private burial will be at the Ripon Cemetery. Celebration of life will Saturday, December 8, 11a.m. at the Almond Valley Christian Reformed Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can sent to your favorite charity. Some of Les’s favorite charities include Ripon Christian School, Bethany Home and Almond Valley Church.
