Leuterio Bernardez Bigornia,  84, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2009. A resident of Manteca for the past seven years; he was born August 4, 1925 in Bangued, Abra, Philippines  to the late Cipriano & Romana Bigornia.

A loving and very supportive  father and grandfather, Leuterio will be missed dearly. He leaves behind  seven children; Jess Bigornia, Blessie Lacson, Cristina Manalad, Elizabeth  Bigornia, Edwin Bigornia, and Nick Bigornia and Regina Bigornia Ocampo, both  of Manteca; 35 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He’s also  survived by his siblings; Honorina Bigornia, Angela B. Almario and Rolando  Bigornia.

Leuterio is a US/Filipino World War II veteran, serving in the US Army, Philippine Scouts, for over  two years as a Private First Class. After his honorable discharge in  1949 he went on to work as a civilian for the US Air Force at Clark  Air Force Base in the Philippines until retiring in August 1985.

Mr. Bigornia was preceded in  death by his wife of 60 years, Rosalina Bengco Bigornia, who passed  away September 16, 2008; three of their children; Fred Bigornia, Franklin  Bigornia and Romerico Bigornia; and three of his siblings; Gabino Bigornia,  Santos Bigornia and Victor Bigornia.

P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, is handling all funeral arrangements.

Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 22,  from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. At 3 p.m. a prayer service will be officiated by Father Dante Dammay during visitation  hours. Contributions may be made to the Ocampo Family c/o Regina, 764  Greenlaven Street, Manteca. CA 95336.
