Marie B. Costa, 56, a lifelong Tracy resident entered into rest on January 28, 2011 in Tracy, California.  She was born on March 3, 1954 in Tracy, California.  She joins her grandparents, brother-In-Law, Jim Campbell and sister-in-law, Joan Costa in heaven.  Miss Costa is survived by her parents, Johnnie & Josie Costa, siblings, Tom Costa of Tracy, Judy Marcus of Wyoming, Johnny (Tina) Costa of Idaho,  Alice Costa-Campbell of Tracy.  Marie also has numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephews and godchildren.

Marie attended St. Bernard’s School and graduated from Tracy High in 1972.

Marie was a lifetime resident of Tracy and was very proud to be in the retired Laura Scudder’s and Heinz fellowship group.  They still meet for lunch, picnics and friendship.  She most recently has been employed by Tracy Unified School District and Manteca Unified School District.

She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, I.P.F.E.S. in Tracy, Yolo Cabrillo Club,  and as a young girl, Lammersville 4-H Club, where she showed her animals at the County Fair & Cow Palace with her siblings and close family friends, the Simonich Family.

Marie was most proud of her 14-gallon donation of blood to the Delta Blood Bank throughout her life.  She was always so kind to ask who needed blood donated and she would do that in their name.

Marie loved to laugh and to be a friend to anyone that needed a friend.  Marie will be remembered for her smile, her love of angels, handcrafting afghans for all of her friends & family and her beautiful embroidery work.  She was also a devoted parishioner who attended the 5 p.m. Saturday Mass where she was in charge of the offering baskets. On Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, we will honor Marie’s life with a Vigil starting at 11:30 a.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Avenue and at 1:30 p.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy, CA for a Mass of Christian Burial.  Burial will be private in Tracy Cemetery.

Marie’s family has requested donations to be sent to St. Bernard’s Church Building Fund, 163 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy, CA 95376 or to the charity of your choice.   An online guest book is available at www.frymemorialchapel.com.
