Robert “Bob” James Soldwisch, 91, entered into rest on January 5, 2017 in Manteca, CA. He was born on May 1, 1925 in Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents Omar and Mary Soldwisch and his beloved wife Marie Soldwisch and son Bruce Soldwisch.
Mr. Soldwisch is survived by his children; Robert, Gerlyn, Michael and David Soldwisch. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. In addition Bob has one surviving sister Dorothy Martino and his faithful companion of five years Sonja Thiry.
Bob moved Manteca two years ago to be closer to family. Prior to Manteca he resided in Lodi where he was an active member of the Tower Park Committee and sat on the board of directors. Prior to Lodi, Robert and his late wife owned and operated Bo-Mar Cleaners located in Fremont, CA. He proudly served his country through the United States Army where he was honorably discharged after four years of service. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where he was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Without reserve, Bob was a devoted family man who gave of himself to not only family but to his community. He enjoyed gardening, RVing with his late wife Mary and was an avid bowler, playing on various leagues throughout his community. He will be remembered for his zest for life and his loving spirit. He will be deeply missed.
