On January 31, 2019, Wilma Lee Doss entered into rest peacefully in Castro Valley, California at the age of 84. She was born on August 24, 1934 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late Troy and Frances Golding. Wilma was raised in Manteca and later moved to Hayward, California where she lived and taught in the San Lorenzo School District for over 42 years. She joins her parents and her brother Robert Golding in Heaven.

Wilma leaves behind her two children, David Doss (wife Rochelle) and Julie Bancroft (husband Mark). In addition she will be missed by her grandchildren, Steven, Heather, Kelly, Shayne, Daniel, Brittany, Andrew, Eric, Robarre, Jessica, David and Malcolm and her great- grandchildren, Henry, Elizabeth, Aurora and Creed. Wilma truly held the heart of all of her grandchildren and enjoyed beyond measure spending time with them.

Wilma graduated from Manteca High and went on to get her Bachelor’s Degree and teaching credential from San Jose State University.  Teaching was truly a passion for Wilma and she invested many years into educating her elementary age students. She had a great sense of style and was always very fashionable. You would never find Wilma under dressed for the occasion and she was the “queen” of accessorizing. Wilma firmly believed you could never have too much bling!  Above all, Wilma loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She had a love for Christ that was almost indescribable. She loved the Lord and loved those around her with a Christ-like love that could not compare to any love you had ever encountered. She attended The First Presbyterian Church of Hayward, where she served on the Deacon Board, made church visitations and enjoyed being a part of the Thanksgiving Basket Ministry. Wilma will be deeply missed by all those that knew her and loved her.

P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home in honored to be serving the Doss family. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the P.L. Fry & Son Chapel, in Manteca, CA. There will be a graveside service Friday, February 8, 2019 at
