Manteca Unified expelled 30 students and suspended 2,718 students during the 2016-2017 school year.

That translates into a 0.12 percent expulsion rate and a 6.5 percent suspension rate for Manteca Unified. The expulsion rate was slightly lower than for San Joaquin County at 0.14 percent and higher than California as a whole at 0.09 percent. The suspension rate of 6.5 percent was the same as for San Joaquin County and higher than the state at 3.6 percent.

By comparison Ripon Unified expelled 3 students and suspended 339 students during the 2016-2017 school year.

That translates into a 0.06 percent expulsion rate and a 4.2 percent suspension rate for Ripon Unified. The expulsion rate was more than 50 percent lower than San Joaquin County at 0.14 percent and lower than California as a whole at 0.09 percent. The suspension rate of 4.2 percent was lower than San Joaquin County at 6.5 percent and lower than the state at 3.6 percent.
