Four different Lancers found net Thursday evening at Dino Cunial Field in a 5-0 win over Weston Ranch, including Megan Howley who peppered the net twice.
Julie Lennert opened the scoring in the first minute off a center from Randy Castillo, and Howley made it 2-0 a minute before half after collecting a Rachel Bonds rebound off the post.
The play came off a perfectly placed corner from Selena DaSilva.
Castillo got into the act in the 56th minute, converting a cross from Howley, and then Howley scored her second goal off a long pass from Alyssa Wegner.
Bonds capped the scoring with a powerful finish courtesy of DaSilva in the 79th minute.
“I enjoyed the way the ladies moved the ball and controlled more of the play,” EU head coach Jim Todd said. “Megan Howley was on her game and Ode Castillo had a great game in the midfield.”
East Union outshot Weston Ranch, 32-2.
“Today was not our day, we didn’t come to play,” Cougars head coach Carlos Gaspar said. “The other team outplayed us.”
Weston Ranch travels to Central Valley Tuesday, while the Lancers will take the day off to prepare for a home showdown Thursday against Sierra.
