TRACY – East Union dug itself a deep hole early Friday night and couldn’t climb out as host Kimball smacked the Lancers 42-21.

The Jaguars (1-1 VOL, 2-3) ran off 28 unanswered points to start the game. After Kimball went up 28-0 with 7:53 left in the first half, the ensuing kickoff went out of bounds giving the Lancers (0-2, 1-4) the ball on their own 35-yard line.

East Union took advantage of the good field position and embarked on an eight-play, 65-yard drive highlighted by Andrew Ortiz’s 22-yard run. The drive was capped off by 6-yard scoring run by Victor Lopez with 3:59 left in the first half to pull within 28-7.

The Lancers would not score again until the fourth quarter after Jeremy Turner recovered a Jaguars fumble, leading to a 30-yard drive capped with a 4-yard Ortiz scoring plunge with 11:10 left in the game to make the score 42-14.

Lucas Garcia had the game’s final score with a 1-yard dive for the final of 42-21 with 4:22 left in the game.
