Ripon JV clobbers Calaveras

Anden Ries scored four touchdowns Friday to lead Ripon to a 35-0 shellacking of visiting Calaveras in non-league junior varsity action at Stouffer Field.

Ries (14 carries, 121 yards) scored on runs of 3, 11, 13 and 15 yards. Ty Herrin got the Indians going with a 30-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter.

Ries led the Ripon defense with seven tackles. Austin Foster added four stops and Marcus Atienza three. Austin Wood made an interception and Jesus Ochoa recovered a fumble.

 

Ripon Christian 23, Stagg 20

Josh Miller scored two touchdowns and Cade Gemmell one for the Knights.

Miller led the Ripon Christian offense with 122 yards. Jace Biedleman was 10 of 14 passing for 102 yards with Ethan Schenk tallying 30 receiving yards and 3 for 3 on conversion kicks.

The Knights’ Carson Bunnell made a tackle for a safety and Logan Sauer snagged an interception.

 

East Union 37, Atwater 0

Carson Sanders threw for three touchdowns and ran for two for the Lancers.

Sanders (7 of 13 passing, 91 yards; two carries, 34 yards) had touchdown throws of 7 and 30 yards to Ivan Alvarez (four receptions, 77 yards) and 14 yards to Nicholas Salcido. Sanders scored on runs of 2 and 30 yards. Moses Segura added a 10-yard touchdown run.

 

Turlock 28, Manteca 20

The Bulldogs outscored the Buffaloes 14-6 in the final quarter for the win.
Manteca’s K.P. MacDannald ground out 150 yards on 19 carries with scoring runs of 5 and 6 yards. Landon Chamberlain (four carries, 30 yards) added a 1-yard scoring plunge.

MacDannald made eight tackles, Arik Vivians six and Bryson McMichael four.

 

Freshman

Sierra 44, Stagg 0

Six different Timberwolves scored.

Victor Yamamoto (seven carries, 72 yards) scored on a 20-yard run. Izrael San Nicolas (three receptions, 72 yards) scored on a 30-yard pass from Zak Willson (4 of 9 passing, 91 yards), Mario Juarez (five carries, 43 yards) had a 6-yard touchdown run, Evan Greenwood scored from 2 yards out, Taylor Rowe tallied a 6-yard touchdown run and Isaiah Lynch returned a fumble 32 yards for a touchdown.

The Sierra defense gave up a total of six yards. Yamamoto (forced fumble) made five tackles, Lynch and Mario Juarez four each and Jonathan Lawas, Caleb Love and San Nicholas three apiece. Taylor Rowe made an interception and Brock Felt, Tim Sargeson and Manual Castaneda (forced fumble) also played well on defense.

Sargeson, Castenda, Juarez and Cameron Diego each made a sack.

 

Manteca 42, Turlock 12 

The Buffaloes led 22-0 at halftime.

Manteca’s Chris Chavez (three receptions, 85 yards) scored three touchdowns – two on 15- and 40-yard receptions from Preston Smith (4 of 6 passing, 130 yards, three touchdowns) and one on a 25-yard run. Smith added a 45-yard scoring pass to Tyler Watkins, Ruben Moreno scored on a 5-yard run and Santana Stevenson returned a fumble 30 yards for a score. Damarie Long added 77 yards on 12 carries.   

Moreno (forced fumble) made seven tackles, Josiah Sagapolua (interception) five and Stevenson four.

 

Atwater 30, East Union 6

Izik Quezada scored for the Lancers in the fourth quarter to avert a shutout.

The bulk of the East Union offense came through the air between the tandem of Anthony Morales (8 of 13 passing, 189 yards, two interceptions) and Blake Mount (three receptions, 111 yards). Robby Espinoza added five catches for 78 yards.

Cesar Salinas led the Lancers defense with 13 tackles. Julian Perez added 12, Mount (fumble recovery) 11, Brandyn Sena nine, Greg Orr and Isaac Alvarez seven apiece, Jaden Gallego and Ryan Guibor five each and Drew Kalin four.
