East Union High hasn’t lost a Valley Oak League dual match since dropping one to rival Sierra in 2007 and continued its current streak of dominance Thursday with a 234-262 victory over third-place Manteca at Manteca Park Golf Course.

But for now, Lancer co-head coach Dennis Wells isn’t looking at the team’s 10-0 mark.

His concern is with the scores it has been producing.

“The girls got a little bit of a (pep talk) today,” Wells said. “We’ve raised the bar, and they’re going to have to come up to it. We need to bring our scores down below 220 consistently. We’re having flashes of brilliance and flashes of not-so-brilliant.”

Jackie Ketner was her steady self in the lead group, medaling with a rock-solid 4-over-par 41 after starting even through four holes.

Frances Telles was 1-over par through four and finished with a 46. Jillian Goulart also carded a 46, and Heather Craft turned in a 50 and Tori Souza rounded out the team score with a 51.

Chandler Rose paced the Buffaloes (7-3) with a 47. Danielle Roberts and Kaylee Joaquin ended up with a 48 and 49, respectively. Melissa Bond followed with a 57, and Micaela Dias had a 61.

Oakdale 303, Weston Ranch 329
At Van Buskirk Golf Course in Stockton, Oakdale’s Jaylene Ponce recorded the low score with a 12-over 48.

Weston Ranch (2-8) was led by a pair of 60’s from Courtney Duran and Emily Medeiros. Britney Jasper followed with a 64, Michelle Lord 66 and Micnesha Vaughn 79.
