EU golf remains unbeaten

Brooke Riley shot an even-par 37 to lead East Union’s 246-288 win over Manteca at Manteca Park Golf Course. Monday’s win moves the Lancers to 5-0 in the Valley Oak League.

Freshman Chloe Cardenas won the race for second with a 48, while Manteca’s Katie Hankins followed with a 49. Others scoring for East Union were Rebeca Leonard (50), Michaela Pangburn (54) and Allie Tajii (57).

Scoring contributors for Manteca were Isabella Garcia-Mendez (52), Dominique Graham (59), Danika Hunt (64) and Arshnoor Kaur (64).

Lathrop 2, Cent. Catholic 1

In Lathrop, the Spartans (1-4 VOL, 8-8-1 overall) had 15 cracks at the Central Catholic goal but settled for just two, one each from Jose Castellanos and freshman Christian Cardenas. Daniel Lozano and Ulysses Almanza were credited with assists.

VOL Novice Tourney

Tournament host Manteca crowned two champions this past Saturday. 

Lejla Pepic topped Courtney Rogers to gain the VOL’s novice singles title, while the senior tandem of Kelly Ramos and Jacqueline Bonangon defeated Central Catholic’s Mary Lehman and Courtney Corolo in doubles.
