STOCKTON — Kaylee Joaquin earned her second straight medalist finish to start the Valley Oak League season Thursday, producing an 8-over 44 while leading Manteca to a 278-333 victory over Weston Ranch at Van Buskirk Golf Course.
Chandler Rose picked up second-place points for the 2-0 Buffaloes, as she carded a 52. Also contributing to the team’s score were Micaela Dias with a 56, Danielle Roberts with a 59 and Melissa Bond a 67.
Weston Ranch dropped its third match of the week but accomplished what its co-head coaches, Miguel Torrente and Melanie Berezay, set out for it to do — shave strokes.
Emily Medeiros led the way with a 54, Courtney Duran chimed in with a 56, Nikki Taylor had a 69, Britney Jasper a 73 and Michelle Lord an 81.
East Union 246, Oakdale 305
At Manteca Park Golf Course Thursday, the defending VOL champion Lancers were led by Jackie Ketner’s 3-over 40.
Jillian Goulart walked off the course with a 42, Francis Telles a 47, Tori Souza a 57 and Katie Vaught 60.
Jaylene Pouce paced Oakdale with a 53.
