Jr. Spartans, Jr. Timberwolves shut out CVYFC opponents

Isaiah White and David Villavicencio scored a pair of touchdowns apiece to lead the Lathrop Jr. Spartans varsity to a 28-0 win over the Galt Jr. Warriors in Central Valley Youth Football and Cheer action on Saturday.

White had touchdown runs of 25 and 50 yards, and Villavicencio added scores from 10 and 25 yards out. Teegan Shevlin tallied 25 yards rushing.

 

Manteca Jr. 

Timberwolves 54,

 Lodi Jr. Flames 0

Jordan Serbousek had three touchdowns on just four carries for the Jr. Timberwolves.

Serbousek (four carries, 58 yards) had a pair of touchdown runs from 15 yards out and a 28-yard scoring scamper. Tommy Perea (five carries, 67 yards) had a 31-yard touchdown run and Fernando Alaniz (four carries, 70 yards) scored from 33 yards out and posted five conversion kicks. 

Anthony Garcia notched a safety for Manteca. Alaniz led the defense with 17 tackles and a fumble recovery. Tommy Perea added 10 tackles, Jose Jimenez and Izaias White seven stops apiece and Jordan Serbousek six. 

 

Manteca Cowboys 28, Lodi Titans 14

Izayah Houston’s two touchdowns sparked a 20-point second quarter for the Cowboys.

Houston (50 yards rushing) scored on a 20-yard run and a 13-yard pass from Omar Diaz (67 yards passing, 40 yards rushing). Bryce Davis (seven carries, 73 yards) added touchdown runs of 6 and 36 yards and Mahtaab Sandhu had 40 yards rushing.  


Junior varsity

Jr. Spartans 40,

 Jr. Warriors 0 

Six different Jr. Spartans scored in a balanced Lathrop attack.

Christopher Ramos scored from 40 yards out, Joseph Fortes had a 30-yard touchdown run, Omar Miramontes pulled in a 15-yard touchdown pass from Cameron Jiminez, Marco Martinez had a 7-yard scoring run and Joseph Fortes scampered 40 yards for a touchdown.

Ezra Tobin busted a 28-yard run to set up a 10-yard touchdown run by Jiminez and Gabriel Avilucea made an interception. 

 

Junior varsity

Jr. Timberwolves 66, 

Jr. Flames 0

Juju Moncada scored all three times he touched the ball for the Jr. Timberwolves, and Niko Ellks tallied touchdowns on special teams and defense.

Moncada (three 3 carries, 92 yards) had scoring runs of 25, 28 and 39 yards. Acie Matthews (two carries, 40 rushing yards) scored on both of his carries from 10 and 30 yards out and Gage Pfeifer had a 38-yard scoring run on his lone carry. Zakery Willson completed his lone attempt for a 70-yard touchdown to Ivan Huerta and Noah Navarro (three carries, 44 yards) added a 5-yard touchdown run. 

Ellks posted a strip and score from 22 yards out on a kickoff for his first score and returned an interception 45 yards for his second. 

Huerta posted seven tackles and a fumble recovery. Owen Gully (forced fumble), Luis Rosas Jr., Reilly Isaac, Isiah Alcocer and Navarro added five stops apiece with four each for Pfeifer, Robert Gaston, Xavier Flores, Matix Cardoza and Casey Sieg.


Cowboys 34, Titans 6 

Manteca’s Mehtaab Bhangu threw for two touchdowns and ran for one.

Bhangu had a 9-yard scoring pass to Blake Mount (five carries, 24 yards; two receptions, 19 yards) and a 23-yard scoring pass to Gabriel Lopez (two receptions, 30 yards). Bhangu also turned a broken play into a short touchdown run. Dylan Stonum (five carries, 80 yards; one reception, 27 yards) had a 22-yard scoring run, Lopez pulled in a 23-yard scoring pass from Anthony Morales, and Christopher Gallego had a 16-yard touchdown run.  

Izik Quezada (nine carries, 89 yards), Quinn Martinez (eight carries, 84 yards), Jeremy A’pe (six carries 42 yards; one reception for six yards), Santana Stevenson (two receptions, 39 yards), Robby Espinoza (two receptions, 31 yards), Julian Perez (four carries, 24 yards) and Damien Rease (three carries, 14 yards) rounded out the Cowboys offensive attack.

Mount led the Manteca defense with 11 tackles followed by Quinn Martinez (10 tackles), Gavin Goodwin (nine),  Ap’e and Brandon Sena (eight apiece), Isaac Alvarez, Gallego, and Izik Quezada (seven apiece), Santana Stevenson (six tackles, interception), Stonum (five tackles, interception), and Julian Perez, Robbie Espinoza and Isaiah Lynch (four apiece). 


Rookies

Cowboys 39, Titans 0

Manteca’s Nicco Juarez returned the opening kickoff 60 yards for a touchdown as part of a 27-point first quarter and the Cowboys never looked back. 

Nicco Juarez had seven carries for 279 yards — 339 all-purpose yards — with touchdown runs of 51, 55, 80 and 62 yards. Elias Lopez (five carries, 30 yards) had a 13-yard touchdown run. 

Juarez made six tackles, Julian Ramirez four and Kyler Cayode (fumble recovery), Landen Sanders (fumble recovery), D.J. Bass Jr., Cayden Soliz and Devin Downey three apiece. Alexander Leon deflected a pass to end the game.


Rookies

Jr. Timberwolves 46,

 Jr. Flames 0

Madden Melendez racked up nearly 250 all-purpose yards and scored three touchdowns for Manteca, which compiled 466 yards rushing and 547 total yards for the game.

Melendez (10 carries, 173 yards; three catches 76 yards) scored on runs of 3, 32 and 60 yards. Albert Menchaca (10 carries, 137 yards) also scored three times with runs of 25, 32 and 50 yards, and Kendall Sweet-Mallory had a 4-yard touchdown run. Leiland Riggelman (75 yards rushing) and Eric Vaquera (42 yards) had five carries apiece, and Brody Carabello had four completions for 86 yards and two carries for 25 yards.

Gilbert Luiz led the Jr. Timberwolves defense with six tackles, Sweet-Mallory had five stops, DeAnthony Hackett (fumble recovery) four and Tino Torres two. Vaquera had two fumble recoveries and Menchaca an interception


Jr. Spartans 42, 

Jr. Warriors 0 

David Grisham recovered a fumble and returned it 30 yards for a Lathrop touchdown. 

Grisham had 89 yards rushing with six tackles and four two-point conversions. Josiah Martinez, Xavier Munguia, Francisco Montano, Manual Lopez and Christian Jimenez all added one touchdown apiece. 


Starts

Cowboys 35, Titans 0

Manteca’s Terrance Montgomery scored on a 70-yard kickoff return and added a pair of touchdowns the two time he carried the ball.

Montgomery scored his two touchdowns on 68 yards rushing. Giovanni Perry scored on his lone carry of 33 yards, and Brian Lewis scored one touchdown behind three carries for 10 yards. Aidan Brown added 45 yards on one carry, and Isaac Estrada had 20 yards on three carries.

Montgomery made eight tackles and recovered a fumble. Isaac Estrada and Aidan Brown had seven tackles apiece, and Kevin Piddock five.


Jr. Spartans 25, 

Jr. Warriors 0

Lathrop’s Diani Navarro scored three touchdowns.

Navarro had eight carries for 107 yards and was 5 of 6 passing 82 yards. Roman Espinoza ran for one touchdown, picking up 63 yards on seven carries. Dreydan Lowery had five carries for 41 yards, Alius Lopez gained 40 yards on seven carries and Dominic Simms picked up 82 yards on five receptions.  

Johnny Silva made eight tackles for the Jr. Spartans. Dominic Silva and Frankie Alvarado had four stops, each and Roman Espinoza made three.
