STOCKTON — Mack Kohler rapped a single back up the middle off the Weston Ranch pitcher in the bottom of the eighth inning Wednesday, allowing Manoah Ellis to skip home with the walk-off run giving Northgate the 8-7 extra-inning win in the consolation final of the District 67 Juniors All-Star tournament at Paul E. Weston Park.

Weston Ranch’s Ismael Rodriguez sent the game past the top of the seventh inning when he reached on a two-out error, allowing Jacob Sheerwood to score from second base. Sheerwood was originally called out, apparently ending the game, but upon the umpires conferring, the call was overturned.

There were only three total hits by both teams through five innings, with Manoah Ellis no-hitting Weston Ranch through five innings, finishing with three runs on two hits and five strikeouts.

Northgate took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Abraham Toscano drew a bases-loaded walk, plating Ellis. Toscano proved to be a tough out, walking four times. Walks, a hit batter and errors led to three Northgate runs in the fifth inning, plating Levi Morris, John Ellis and Bryce Flores.

Flores started the eighth inning on second base per the international tie-breaker rule for Northgate, coming in when Manoah Ellis reached on an error. Manoah Ellis scored later in the inning to end the game.

Julien Rosillo started the Weston Ranch eighth on second and scored on Matthew Segura’s sacrifice fly, putting Weston Ranch ahead 7-6.

Julian Gonzales scored two runs and knocked in one for Weston Ranch. Johnny Aguilar went 2 for 2 with a walk and a run for Weston Ranch.

Northgate advances to the championship round tonight against Spreckels Park at 5:30 p.m.
