The Manteca girls basketball team finished its preseason with a 2-8 record and took its final lump on Thursday afternoon against visiting Lincoln of Stockton at Winter Gym.

The Buffaloes, who only managed to score four first-quarter points and trailed by 17 after eight minutes, were led by senior guard Jessica Hasal (six points).

Manteca, which opens up Valley Oak League play at Lathrop High next Wednesday at 7:15 p.m., had a better second quarter but still faced a 36-15 deficit at the half.

Lincoln (5-3), which was led by three players in double figures, went on a 29-3 run in the third quarter to bury the Buffaloes in a 48-point hole after three periods. Lianna Tillman (13 points), Danielle Pacheco (19) and Zahria Hendrix (15) led the Trojans’ scoring attack.

Manteca was outscored 7-6 in the final quarter and received four points from junior guard Allison Rachels. Mildred Perez and Abigail Behler chipped in three with Perez’s hitting Manteca’s only triple.

Lincoln connected on seven 3-pointers, with Tillman and Pacheco knocking down three apiece.
