The East Union sophomore baseball team continued an impressive run of late, blasting the Cougars 12-0 for a Valley Oak League win Tuesday.
East Union (4-0 VOL, 7-3 overall) mustered 10 hits against the Cougars, getting knocks from eight of its nine starters. Josh Bonds led the charge, going 2 for 2 and scoring three runs, while Brock Swift also went 2 for 2 in the batter’s box.
The Lancers were able to put things away for good with an eight-run third.
Manteca 5, Sierra 2
The Buffaloes took care of business, handling the host Sierra Timberwolves 5-2 Tuesday in VOL play.
Jess Encinias was 2 for 3 for the Buffaloes, mashing a double and driving in two. Danny Gouveia had an RBI triple and went 5 2/3 on the hill, striking out five and surrendering one earned run.
