With the Indians locked into a tight four-team race for the final three Trans-Valley League playoff spots, the Ripon freshman came through Tuesday, April 24.
She pitched a two-hit shutout in a 9-0 win over Hughson, helping avenge a loss earlier in the season to the Huskies.
In just her third varsity start, Thomason took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, retiring 10 consecutive batters at one point. She struck out five and walked four (two intentional).
Ripon (6-4, 13-6 overall) is now in third place in the TVL with two games remaining. The Indians host Mountain House on Thursday and heads to Hilmar on May 8.
“She has stepped into a difficult situation and has handled it like a pro,” Indians coach Robert Vernon said. “She’s a great kid, very coachable and we are blessed to have her.
“She is a very tough competitor and she’s going to keep getting better each day.”
