TWolves score easy win over Manteca

It was business as usual for the Sierra Timberwolves, cruising to an easy 206-258 win over the Manteca Buffaloes Tuesday at Manteca Golf Course.

Miguel Dominguez closed the round with medalist honors, shooting an even-par round of 37 to pace the Timberwolves. Drew Allen came in a stroke behind Dominguez with a 38, and Paul Michaleto finished with a 4-over-par 41. Teammates Ryan Leasure (44) and Chase Hunter (46) rounded out the Sierra scorecard.

Manteca got a solid round from No. 1 Nick Gonzales who turned in an impressive 38, followed by Kenny Summers’ 45. Casey Benson (55), Tim Baker (58), Chris Pinpin (62) and Davey Tolbert (68) accounted for the Buffaloes scoring.

The Buffaloes (3-4) will be back on the course at 3 p.m. when they travel to Stockton to take on Weston Ranch at Van Buskirk Golf Course.

Ripon 172, Modesto Christian 190
RIPON – The Indians had no problem asserting themselves as the top squad on their home course, rolling the visiting Crusaders by nearly 20-strokes.

Andrew Bonner and Josh Richter both shot 2-over-par 33’s to share co-medalist honors. Jordan Williamson and Matty Gay came in behind them with a 34 and 35, respectively. Teamamte Nick Mendonca’s 6-over-par 37 was Ripon’s fifth score.

“Jordan really stepped up a little bit,” Ripon head coach Chris Musseman said. “Matty got his game going and he is looking better, we’ll see how it goes Thursday against Ripon Christian because that is going to be a big one.”

Ripon and Ripon Christian will meet up Thursday at Spring Creek CC at 3 p.m.
