RIPON — Ripon continued its roll through the Valley Foothill League’s North Division on Tuesday, dispatching Escalon 149-166 at Jack Tone Golf Course.
The reigning champion improved to 6-0 and has beaten its chief rivals in the last week, including previously-unbeaten Bret Harte.
Low medalist Laura Williams shot a 2-over 34 to lead four Indians with sub-40 scores.
“The girls played well today,” Ripon coach Eric Dambrosio said. “Each girl’s score was in the 30s. I’m pleased at the progress we’ve made since the beginning of the season. We have worked hard on putting and short game and it’s paying off.”
Bianca Toledo followed Williams with a 37. Alex Gonzalez and Emily Harris each added a 39. Escalon was led by Madison Kindberg’s 37.
Ripon gets another stiff challenge Thursday when it hosts Sonora, a team it edged out 203-209 to start the season.
