Just in time for the World Cup, the Manteca Futbol Club is offering a free skills academy to the community’s future stars.

The academy will take place every Friday at Antigua Park from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., beginning today and running through the month of July.

The final date is July 25.

Antigua Park is located at 1600 Pagola Avenue, near Veritas Elementary School.

The focus is to teach technical skill, instill confidence and educate the youth on how to become soccer players.

Those that attend the hour-long sessions will be instructed on the game’s fundamental skills: passing, receiving the ball, dribbling and shooting.

Boys and girls, ages 5-10, must be from the Manteca area.
