Pimentel’s homer leads Stockton to win

STOCKTON (AP) -- Sandber Pimentel hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning, leading the Stockton Ports to an 8-5 win over the San Jose Giants on Thursday.

Trey Cochran-Gill got Heath Quinn to hit into a forceout with runners on first and second to end the game for his first save of the season.

The home run by Pimentel capped a three-run inning and gave the Ports a 6-5 lead after Chase Calabuig hit an RBI single earlier in the inning.

The Ports added to their lead in the eighth when Santiago Chavez hit a two-run home run.

Will Gilbert (4-2) got the win with two innings of scoreless relief while Peter Lannoo (1-4) took the loss in the California League game.

Wander Franco doubled and singled twice, scoring two runs for the Giants.
