FREMONT — Mistakes sent Spreckels Park to the consolation bracket Tuesday with a 7-3 loss to Gilroy in the semifinal of the California Division II Little League Junior All-Star Tournament at Gomes Elementary School.

Trailing 4-3 going into the seventh inning, Spreckels Park committed three errors that led to three Gilroy runs in the top of the seventh. In the bottom of the frame Spreckels Park got runners on second on third with one out, but one of them was picked off to squelch the threat.

Spreckels Park plays College Glen of Sacramento today at 5:30 p.m. in the consolation final. The victor faces Gilroy in the championship round but will need to win twice to advance to the West Region Tournament.
