RIPON — Do you struggle to maintain a healthy prayer and worship life?  Whether you have been praying and worshipping for decades or just thinking about getting started, a day with Terry Teykl will energize and equip you to more effectively communicate with God.

On Saturday, Feb. 11, Teykl is coming to Ripon to present “An Encounter” prayer conference.  Teykl has spent his life encouraging and teaching the local church how to develop a passionate and meaningful relationship with God. A former pastor of 28 years, Teykl is now a full-time conference speaker on prayer.  His warm humorous style makes Teykl one of the most sought after speakers and seminar leaders in the country. He has authored an entire line of prayer resources that make it possible for churches to build prayer into the everyday life of their congregations. The hallmark of a Teykl presentation is a deep abiding love and passion for those who are yet to know Jesus. He resides in Houston, Texas, with his wife Kay, near his children and grandchildren.

What can you expect at this prayer retreat?  It is a blend of worship, teaching, ministry, prayer and fellowship.  The seminar will cover a wide range of topics that include a study on personal prayer that uncovers common myths concerning prayer.  You’ll explore how prayer can capture every thought and mold them to the mind of Christ, tearing down carnal strongholds and inviting the Holy Spirit to move freely in our lives and in our churches.  You’ll learn about prayer evangelism, powerful insights into what makes a church alive, and fulfilling the great commission.

The Feb., 11 event is hosted by the First Christian Reformed Church at 305 Boesch Drive in Ripon. It starts at 9 a.m. and concludes at 2:30 p.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.  Lunch and refreshments throughout the day will be included.  Cost is $25 at the door.  Or take advantage of the early bird special of $20 for all who register by Saturday, Feb. 4.  Registration forms are available at the church office or email Carla at carlah59@yahoo.com to request a form and information to be emailed to you.  Important – if registering at the door, please call the church office, 599-3225, to make your lunch reservation by Monday, Feb. 6.

Teykl’s passion is contagious as he communicates foundational principles and practical ideas.  He’ll make you laugh, but you will come away from the experience convinced that you can make a difference in your life, in your church, and in your community.  Expect a day of retreat, refreshment, fun, and renewal.
